I fix the thing everyone else works around.
A hands-on operations partner for small and medium businesses. One person, no handoffs, and a genuine love for the moment a messy process finally clicks into place.

I'm Alicia — founder of Orchid & Oak, and I fix the thing everyone else works around.
Ten-plus years in corporate marketing and retail taught me the same lesson every time: it's rarely a strategy problem. It's a systems problem. Today I work as an analyst and spend my time doing professionally what I've always done instinctively — finding where a process breaks and rebuilding it so it doesn't break again.
When I take on a client, I'm not a vendor you check in with quarterly. I'm the person who understands your operations well enough to see the fix before you ask for it — a partner in the parts of your business nobody else wants to touch.
When I'm not building systems, I'm outside somewhere in Minnesota, espresso latte in hand — and lately, relearning patience one stitch at a time with needlepoint. Turns out precision is precision, whether it's a workflow or a thread count.
The name isn't decoration. An orchid needs the right conditions to grow. An oak builds them. I'm the oak — and I build that structure with you, not for you and gone.
Let's build yours.
Why I started Orchid & Oak
In every role I've held, I ended up being the person quietly fixing the process underneath the work. The campaign wasn't late because of the idea; it was late because the handoff lived in someone's inbox. The report wasn't wrong because of the numbers; it was wrong because it was rebuilt by hand every month.
Small businesses feel that even more sharply. There's no operations department, so the owner becomes the system. I started Orchid & Oak so business owners could have someone in their corner who builds the structure, explains it, and stays as close as they want.
I'm not an agency and I don't want to be one. You get me, directly: the same person on the audit call, in the build, and at the handoff.
A few things I hold to.
With you, not for you and gone.
You'll understand every system I build, and you'll have the documentation to prove it.
Your process, not a template.
I map how your business actually runs before I suggest a single automation.
The tools you already own.
Microsoft 365 first, Zapier where it fits, AI-assisted steps where they genuinely help.
Plain language, always.
No jargon walls. If I can't explain what a flow does in a sentence, it isn't finished.
